Invasive Eurasian Mussels
Zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) and Quagga mussels (Dreissena rostriformis bugensis) are collectively known as Eurasian or Dreissenid Mussels. They are small freshwater mollusks that impact ecosystems, damage water equipment and infrastructure, and cost billions of dollars per year to control.
On October 21-23rd, 2009, University of California Sea Grant and the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources will host a workshop at the Granlibakken Conference Center & Lodge in Lake Tahoe, CA to discuss Eurasian Mussel outreach, education, and collaboration.
